Brooks “Wally” Walter King
Brooks “Wally” Walter King, 60, of Mabelvale, Arkansas, passed away on August 24, 2026. He was born on May 15, 1966, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Bobby and Velma Jean King.
Wally was a quiet man who carried a heart much bigger than he ever let on. He was not one to seek attention or openly express his emotions, but those who knew him best understood that he had his own quiet way of showing how much he cared. If someone needed help, Wally was the kind of person who would be there. He would do anything for anyone, often without expecting recognition or anything in return.
His faith was an important part of his life, and he was a longtime member of The Church at Rock Creek in Little Rock. His faith was something he carried with him throughout his life and was an important part of who he was.
Wally was also a hard worker who took pride in what he did. For 15 years, he served as the Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor for the Arkansas School for the Deaf and Blind, where he dedicated himself to caring for the grounds and serving the school community. He later spent time as a bus driver with Arkansas Enterprises for the Developmentally Disabled (AEDD), Inc., transporting children with disabilities. His work reflected something that came naturally to him—quietly taking care of others.
Outside of work, Wally enjoyed the things that gave him a chance to spend time outdoors, to compete, and to simply enjoy life. He loved to bowl, hunt, fly remote-controlled airplanes, and race Sprint cars. These hobbies brought him joy and gave those who knew him opportunities to see the more playful and adventurous side of him.
Family was especially important to Wally. He shared a close bond with his brother, Travis L. King, and Travis’ passing in 2023 was a tremendous loss. Their relationship was one of those bonds that did not require many words. They simply knew each other, and that connection remained deeply important to Wally throughout his life.
Wally was also very close to his aunts, Judy and Billie, and each shared a special relationship with him. In recent years, Billie, in particular, remained a constant presence in Wally’s life, always keeping in touch and making sure he was taken care of, included, and knew he was an important part of the family. Whether it was a holiday, a family gathering, or simply staying connected through everyday life, she made sure Wally was never forgotten or left out. The steady love and connection that Judy and Billie showed Wally meant a great deal to him throughout the years and helped ensure he always knew that he was loved and had family looking out for him.
Wally will be remembered by those who loved him for his kindness, his hard work, his strong faith, and his willingness to help others. He may have been a quiet man, but the love he gave was never small. He leaves behind memories that will live on in the hearts of the many people whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his aunts: Judy Redmon and Billie Looney; sister-in-law, Sandra King; nephew, Jonathan King, his wife Atina, and their children, Parker and Elliot; along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother, Travis L. King.
A memorial service celebrating Wally’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, at The Church at Rock Creek, 11500 W. 36th St., Little Rock, Arkansas 72211.

Donna Lynn Chastain
Donna Lynn Chastain passed away peacefully in her home on August 27th, 2026.
Donna was born July 30, 1964 to Harry and June Caldwell in Benton, as the youngest of five
siblings. She attended and graduated from Benton High School where she met her husband of
41 years, Kevin. She spent her life and career pouring into others through her work at Ringgold
Elementary and then the Benton School District Central Office. After retiring from Benton
Schools, she spent time working for Boys & Girls Clubs of Saline County, eSTEM Public Charter
School, and C & F Steel Erectors. No matter where she was, Donna brought light, laughter, and
assorted shenanigans to her coworkers and friends.
Donna married Kevin Chastain on November 16th, 1984 and together, they raised two children.
Donna made sure that her home was always welcoming and full of laughter. She took great
pride in her children, and she loved getting to be GiGi to her three grandchildren.
Outside of her work and family, Donna loved the water. Whether spending time at the lake or
making trips to the beach, she was happiest when she was close to the water. Her quick wit,
humor, generosity, and the way she made everyone feel loved and valued truly made her a
special individual.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Kevin Chastain; her children, Spencer (Katy)
Chastain of Lake Village and Emily Wright (Stephen) of Benton; her grandchildren, Ellie Grace
Chastain, Anndi June Wright, and Brodie Wright; her brothers Randy (Janette) Caldwell of
Owensville, Glenn (Vicki) Caldwell of Owensville, Mike (Sharon) Caldwell of Springdale, Aaron
(Cindy) Caldwell of Hot Springs; and a whole host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry Caldwell and June Scholes Caldwell.
In celebration of Donna’s life, a visitation will be held Monday, August 31st, 2026 from 5:30 to
7:30pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 1st, 2026 at 10:00am. All services will be
held at Roller-Aloca Funeral Home, with a short graveside service at New Rosemont Cemetery
following the funeral.
