Mahjong, margaritas, good food and a girls’ night out — all while giving back to local kids? That sounds like a pretty good way to spend a Saturday evening.
Empire Gymnastics is hosting Mahj & Margs on Saturday, September 26, from 5–7 p.m. at Empire Gymnastics Building 2, with proceeds benefiting both Empire Gymnastics and The EMpact One Foundation.

The event is designed for everyone from experienced Mahjong players to complete beginners who have been watching the Mahjong craze and wondering what all the fun is about.
And because no girls’ night is complete without something good to eat and drink, food and margaritas are includedwith registration.
Childcare will also be available for potty-trained children, making it a little easier for moms to enjoy an evening out.
Most importantly, the fun has a purpose.
Funds raised through Mahj & Margs will support the work of two organizations serving children and families in the Saline County community. Empire Gymnastics provides opportunities for young athletes to learn, grow and develop through gymnastics and cheer, while The EMpact One Foundation works to remove financial barriers that prevent young people from participating in sports and extracurricular activities.
Through programs including Tuition Assistance and the Mobile Sports Locker, EMpact One helps make sure a family’s financial circumstances don’t determine whether a child gets the opportunity to play.
Whether you already know your way around a Mahjong table or couldn’t tell a bamboo from a dragon, Mahj & Margs offers a chance to grab your girlfriends, try something fun and help create opportunities for kids right here at home.
