Registration is officially open for the 2026 Saline County Christmas Parade! This year’s theme, “A Fairytale Christmas,” invites businesses, schools, churches, organizations,s and families to get creative and join in the holiday fun.
Floats, bands, gymnastics, groups, businesses, sports teams, walkers, dancers, and schools.
Parade entries will compete for cash prizes of $300 for first place, $200 for second place, and $100 for third place. Registration is $10, and forms are available at Benton City Hall (410 River Street) and the Benton Area Chamber of Commerce (607 N. Market Street). Join us as we bring the community together for a magical Christmas tradition in Saline County! Register by November 30.

The Beat Goes On 5K Raises More Than $13,000 to Support Saline County Students and Food Is Medicine Choice Pantry

BENTON, Ark. (Sept. 24, 2026) – The beat is still going strong following the 2026 Beat Goes On 5K, held in Benton Saturday, Sept. 19. Nearly 300 people registered for the event, bringing runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and community
partners together to promote heart health, community wellness, and service.
The event raised more than $13,000 to support two important community initiatives: scholarships for Saline County students pursuing higher education in the medical field and Saline Memorial Hospital’s Food Is Medicine Choice Pantry.
“By combining our resources and community networks, we’re creating opportunities that extend far beyond race day by supporting local students, strengthening families, and helping ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious food when they need it most,” said Teri Todd, president of the Tea Rose Community Collaborative.
The Beat Goes On 5K is part of a strategic partnership between Saline Health System and the Tea Rose Community Collaborative, the charitable foundation affiliated with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Alpha Alpha Rho Omega Chapter. The partnership was established to expand the race’s community impact by supporting education, health, and access to food and nutrition resources across Saline County.
The 2026 Beat Goes On 5K celebrated strong performances across the field, with 198 participants crossing the finish line. Several runners completed their first 5K while others had a new personal record. Race results are available on the race page at https://runsignup.com/Race/
Todd said the success of the Beat Goes On 5K would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors: Everett Chevrolet (presenting sponsor), SR Law, PLLC and Summerwood Sports (gold sponsors), and Saline County Judge Matt Brumley, Malvern National Bank, Harps Food Stores, Recycle Saline and Coker Fit Photographer (silver sponsors).

Sometimes, an unexpected hardship can make it difficult for a family, senior citizen, or individual to keep up with essential utility expenses. The Benton Utilities Share Program was created to provide a helping hand during those difficult times.
The program is made possible through the generosity of Benton Utilities customers who voluntarily contribute to Share. Those contributions are used to assist fellow citizens who are struggling to pay their utility bills.
At the heart of this program is the Share Board Committee—a group of community-minded citizens entrusted with helping ensure these funds reach individuals and families who truly need assistance.
The Share Board operates independently of Benton Utilities and is responsible for reviewing applications and determining which applicants receive assistance through the Share Program. Serving on the board is an opportunity to make a direct and meaningful difference in the lives of people right here in our community.
We’re Looking for Caring, Community-Minded Citizens
Benton Utilities is currently accepting resumes from citizens interested in serving on the Share Board. Committee members must reside within the City of Benton.
There is no salary associated with the position; however, expenses incurred while conducting Share Board business may be eligible for reimbursement.
For those who believe in neighbors helping neighbors, serving on the Share Board offers a rewarding opportunity to put that belief into action. Your time, judgment, compassion, and commitment to the community can help ensure that assistance is available when a Benton resident needs it most.

It’s about that time! The Royal Theatre is excited to announce our 7th annual haunted house, opening October 15th! The Royal Haunted House, 111 South Market Street, Benton, AR, is sponsored by ARVEST Bank. The Benton Senior Center will be starting A Matter Of Balance Classes on November 4th.
Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A MATTER OF BALANCE is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.
YOU WILL LEARN TO: view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
Who should attend: Anyone concerned about falls, anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility, and strength, anyone who has fallen in the past, anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns.

Saline County Christmas Parade

Registration is officially open for the 2026 Saline County Christmas Parade! This year’s theme, “A Fairytale Christmas,” invites businesses, schools, churches, organizations, and families to get creative and join in the holiday fun.
Floats, bands, gymnastics, groups, businesses, sports teams, walkers, dancers, and schools.
Parade entries will compete for cash prizes of $300 for first place, $200 for second place, and $100 for third place. Registration is $10, and forms are available at Benton City Hall (410 River Street) and the Benton Area Chamber of Commerce (607 N. Market Street). Join us as we bring the community together for a magical Christmas tradition in Saline County! Register by November 30.
