Make a Difference in Our Community – Serve on the Benton Utilities Share Board
Benton Utilities
Looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community and help your neighbors during times of need? Consider serving on the Benton Utilities Share Board.
Sometimes, an unexpected hardship can make it difficult for a family, senior citizen, or individual to keep up with essential utility expenses. The Benton Utilities Share Program was created to provide a helping hand during those difficult times.
The program is made possible through the generosity of Benton Utilities customers who voluntarily contribute to Share. Those contributions are used to assist fellow citizens who are struggling to pay their utility bills.
At the heart of this program is the Share Board Committee—a group of community-minded citizens entrusted with helping ensure these funds reach individuals and families who truly need assistance.
The Share Board operates independently of Benton Utilities and is responsible for reviewing applications and determining which applicants receive assistance through the Share Program. Serving on the board is an opportunity to make a direct and meaningful difference in the lives of people right here in our community.
We’re Looking for Caring, Community-Minded Citizens
Benton Utilities is currently accepting resumes from citizens interested in serving on the Share Board. Committee members must reside within the City of Benton.
There is no salary associated with the position; however, expenses incurred while conducting Share Board business may be eligible for reimbursement.
For those who believe in neighbors helping neighbors, serving on the Share Board offers a rewarding opportunity to put that belief into action. Your time, judgment, compassion, and commitment to the community can help ensure that assistance is available when a Benton resident needs it most.
Positions will remain open until filled.
Interested citizens are encouraged to apply here: https://form.jotform.com/
Help Us Help Our Neighbors
The Share Program represents something special about Benton—a community willing to lend a helping hand when one of its own is facing a difficult season.
If you have a heart for service and want an opportunity to make a difference close to home, we encourage you to consider serving on the Benton Utilities Share Board. Click Here for the flyer.

Teneal Hill Named Birch Tree Communities’ Practitioner of the Year
Birch Tree Communities
Birch Tree Communities is proud to announce that Director of Nursing Teneal Hill, APRN, PMHNP-BC, has been named the organization’s Practitioner of the Year. Hill was recognized at the recent Arkansas Behavioral Health Institute Annual Awards Luncheon, where behavioral health professionals from across the state were honored for their contributions to the field.
Hill has dedicated decades to serving adults living with serious mental illness, consistently demonstrating a commitment to compassionate, person-centered care and advocacy for the individuals Birch Tree Communities serves. Throughout her career, she has continued to grow professionally while remaining focused on improving the lives of the organization’s members.
“Teneal is an extraordinary asset to Birch Tree Communities, and her journey with our organization is truly inspirational,” said CEO Dr. Brad Holloway. “Her passion for behavioral health began during a high school visit to Birch Tree Communities, where she recognized her desire to serve adults living with serious mental illness. She joined our organization as a paraprofessional 26 years ago and has since advanced through the ranks to become our Director of Nursing and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Her compassion and commitment to our members have made a lasting impact on our organization, and we are honored to recognize her outstanding contributions with this award.”
Hill’s career at Birch Tree Communities reflects her longstanding commitment to the organization’s mission. After beginning her career as a paraprofessional, she pursued additional education and professional training, ultimately becoming a registered nurse, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and Director of Nursing.
Hill was one of 16 practitioners recognized as Practitioners of the Year by member agencies of the Arkansas Council for Behavioral Health. The annual awards recognize behavioral health professionals who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and commitment to the individuals and communities they serve.
Birch Tree Communities Inc. is a nonprofit behavioral health organization that provides therapeutic communities for adults living with serious and persistent mental illness. The organization serves approximately 400 members across 12 branches in Arkansas with a mission to support members in their mental health recovery and help them live fulfilling and independent lives in the community. Today, he is focused on helping patients restore function and motion in the hand and upper extremity.

The Beat Goes On 5K Announces Strategic Partnership to Expand Community Impact Across Saline County
BENTON, Ark. — The Beat Goes On 5K, a long-standing Saline County tradition promoting heart health and community wellness, is entering an exciting new chapter through a strategic partnership between Saline Health System and the Tea Rose Community Collaborative. Together, the organizations are expanding the event’s impact by supporting educational opportunities and improving access to food and nutrition resources.
For years, the Beat Goes On 5K has brought together runners, walkers, families, and community supporters to celebrate heart health. The race begins on the hospital campus at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, and features a scenic route through historic downtown Benton.
Through this strategic partnership, proceeds from the event will benefit two important community initiatives: scholarships for Saline County students pursuing higher education in the medical field and Saline Memorial Hospital’s new Food Is Medicine Choice Pantry, an official Arkansas Foodbank partner pantry.
Opening Aug. 12, the pantry will provide access to nutritious foods and nutrition resources for individuals referred by healthcare providers throughout the community.
“This strategic partnership reflects our shared commitment to building a healthier, stronger Saline County,” said Teri Todd, President of the Tea Rose Community Collaborative. “By combining our resources and community networks, we’re creating opportunities that extend far beyond race day by supporting local students, strengthening families and helping ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious food when they need it most.”
Organizers are currently seeking sponsors, corporate partners, and community supporters to continue the Beat Goes On 5K’s tradition of success. Sponsorship opportunities offer businesses and organizations meaningful community visibility while directly supporting scholarships for local students and the Food Is Medicine Choice Pantry.
Community members are encouraged to participate as runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors, or donors to help make this year’s event the most successful yet. Race registration is now open at https://runsignup.com/Race/AR/
“Running this race is about more than miles,” said Char Boulch, CEO of Saline Health System. “It’s a chance to take care of your heart, celebrate the strength of our community, and show up. Click Here for the Press Release.2026 Ralph Bunche Community Health Fair United for Better Health
