Recycle Saline is hosting its monthly Saturday recycling drop-off event on Sept. 5, allowing local residents to easily dispose of household recyclables, electronics, and tires. The special weekend collection will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the organization’s main collection facility. Read more below.
The event is held at the Recycle Saline headquarters, located at 520 Edison Ave in Benton. To access the drop-off area, drivers must enter the property from 3rd Street and go through the first gate on the left around the back of the building.
Organizers have established strict requirements for all materials brought to the site. To ensure an efficient process, all items must be clean and sorted into labeled containers prior to arrival.
The collection event will accept a wide range of household materials, including:
- Electronics
- Plastics (specifically labeled #1, #2, and #5)
- Flattened cardboard
- Paper products, including newspapers and magazines
- Glass
- Aluminum and tin cans
- Plastic bags
- Tires (with a strict limit of four tires per person)
This drop-off program runs on the first Saturday of every month, with the exception of July. For residents who cannot attend the weekend event, Recycle Saline is also open during its regular weekly hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
