Linda Shaw Humes
Linda Shaw Humes, of Benton, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the age of 75 surrounded by family. She was born in Hot Springs on July 2, 1951 to Odis and Mildred Shaw. Linda was the widow of her high school sweetheart, the late Herman Humes. They were married on December 25, 1976.
Her survivors include children, Jase (Amber) Humes and Kacee (Justin) Wells; grandchildren, Kaselee and Jettsen Wells; uncle, Danny Shaw; great-niece, Mackenzie Mitchell; great-great-nieces, Addison, Charlotte, and Willow; and special cousin, Joyce (Bryan) Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Carolyn (Pat) Sepulvado; and niece, Valerie Ahart.
Linda owned and operated a successful utility construction company, Humes Utilities, for over 40 years. We would like to give a special Thank You to all of her current and past employees who worked with her.
A special Thank You to caregivers of Southern Charm for their loving care.
Linda always said it took less effort to be kind than to be ugly to others.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 25 at Ashby Funeral Home.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 26 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial to follow at Ten Mile Cemetery.

Ed L. Owen
Ed L. Owen, 96, passed away August 23, 2026 at his home. Ed was born February 8th, 1930 in Harrisonville, Missouri to Dr. E.H. and Elva Finney Owen.
Ed was married to Jane Holland on August 12, 1955 in Mineral Wells, Texas. They have shared 71 years of wonderful memories.
Ed served as a deacon at New Covenant Church, which is now Centerpoint Church. Ed was a successful businessman, where he owned Owen Drilling and Emery Pump Service for 45 years. Ed served on the Board of the Arkansas Water Well Commission for over 10 years.
Ed loved to travel. He and Jane were fortunate enough to be able to travel to all 50 states. His favorite past time was reading.
Ed is survived by his wife, Jane; two sons: Russell (Teresa) and Emery; one daughter, Charlotte; nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn Kay; his parents; and one sister, Mary Ellen.
Family expresses their gratitude to all of Ed’s caregivers, especially Elite Hospice, for providing such compassionate care.
Services will be held at Centerpoint Church on Friday, August 28. Visitation will be held from 19:30-11:30 AM, followed by funeral service at 11:30. Burial following at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander at 2:00 PM.
