Timothy “Scott” Earnest
Timothy “Scott” Earnest, 59, of Bauxite, Arkansas, passed away September 8, 2026. He was born April 24, 1967, in Benton, Arkansas, to Brenda Gail (Gentry) Burrow and the late Junior Barnett Earnest.
Scott worked for Falcon Jet as an aircraft mechanic, specializing in welding. A man of many talents, Scott could do just about anything he set his mind to. In addition to being a skilled welder, he attended culinary school and was an amazing cook. Of all the things he could prepare, his squirrel and dumplings were a favorite and a dish his family will always remember.
A true outdoorsman and adventure seeker, Scott was happiest when he could be outside. He enjoyed gardening, camping, hunting, and fishing and was always ready for the next adventure. Whether he was working with his hands, cooking something delicious, or spending time outdoors, Scott put his whole heart into the things he enjoyed.
Scott attended Mars Hill Church, where he treasured the friendships he made and the church family who meant so much to him. His family is especially grateful for his pastor, whose faithful daily visits while Scott was in hospice were a tremendous source of comfort and encouragement.
Those who knew Scott knew there was much more to him than his tough exterior. Underneath was an incredibly soft heart and a deep, unconditional love for his family and friends. If someone he loved needed something, Scott was there without hesitation. He never wanted recognition or praise for the things he did for others. In fact, many of his kindest acts were done quietly and privately, simply because he saw a need and wanted to help. That was Scott—strong, capable, generous, and always willing to lend a hand without expecting anything in return.
Above all, Scott cherished his grandchildren. They truly meant the world to him, and some of his happiest moments were simply spent being with them. He wanted to share his knowledge and wisdom with them, teach them the things he had learned throughout his life, and make as many memories with them as possible. He worried about them, looked out for them, and wanted to make sure they were taken care of. Scott was “all about the kids,” and the love he poured into them will always be cherished and remain a special part of his legacy.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Junior Barnett Earnest; grandparents, Ruby and Ross Gentry; “Grandma Scott”; “Grandma Earnest”; and “Grandpa Earnest.”
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Stephanie (Collins) Earnest; daughters, Payton Earnest and fiancé David Schneider, and Jade Earnest; grandchildren, Jaylee, Presley, Brock, Gunnar, Carsen, and Austin; mother, Brenda (Gentry) Burrow; sister, LeAnne Earnest; brother, Todd Brakeville; and many other family members and friends who love Scott and will miss him always.
The family will hold a memorial service at Mars Hill Church, 12800 Mars Hill Road, Bauxite, Arkansas, on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Time to be confirmed.
Norma “Peggy” Harris
Norma “Peggy” Harris, age 98, of East End, peacefully left her earthly home for heaven on September 8, 2026, three days before her 99th birthday.
Peggy was born in East End , Arkansas on September 11, 1927. She was the youngest of 9 children born to William Marion Haynes and Annie Lou Hale Haynes. On May 30, 1950 she married William T. Harris.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, her parents, brothers: Lilburn, Ed, Claud, and Robert Haynes. Sisters; Mildred Donham, Jean Reynolds, Ophelia Wilkerson, and Erma Wright. Son-in-law Mike Bailey.
She was a faithful member of East Union Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and member of Lydia Circle. She also was a lifetime member of East End School PTA, a cub scout leader, and she supported her husband as a boy scout leader.
When there was a need in her church or the community she was always one of the first to lend a hand. She was famous for her cooking, especially her fried chicken, fried okra, and sourdough bread. Family and friends looked forward to enjoying her food, especially her sourdough bread.
She is survived by her children; Susan Sorrels (Joe) of Russellville, and Dr. William T. Harris Jr. (Debbie) of Little Rock. Grandchildren; Michelle Whitlock (Jonathan), Scott Bailey, Anna Bailey, Jenna Wells (Mason), and Emily Rooney (Anthony). Great- Grandchildren; Erica Williams (Seth), Ethan Whitlock, Teresa, Katherine, Claire, and Thomas Rooney, and Oliver Wells.
Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM with a 11:00 AM Celebration of Life at East Union Missionary Baptist Church with burial following at Salem Cemetery.
