After a 9-month vacancy, Governor appoints Mike Davidson to Saline County Quorum Court; Three other local appointees

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced on Friday her list of recent appointments, and, after nine months of vacancy in one seat on the Saline County Quorum Court, she has picked Bryant resident Mike Davidson.

Davidson is a local business coach and leadership expert, and a member of the Benton and Bryant Chambers of Commerce. He will serve out the remainder of an unexpired term that runs through December 31, 2026. This appointment fills the vacancy created by the resignation of former Justice of the Peace Justin Rue.

The vacancy in District 5 occurred when Justin Rue, having held the seat for three years, submitted his letter of resignation during the quorum court’s November 17, 2025, meeting. Rue resigned effective immediately due to relocating his residence outside of District 5 boundaries. The Saline County Quorum Court then met on December 15, 2025, to pass a resolution formally declaring the office vacant.

Davidson, a resident of Bryant, brings a background in local business and leadership development to this role. A Maxwell Leadership Certified Speaker and Coach, Davidson partners with business owners to grow leaders within their organizations, provides executive coaching, and works with companies across the country to clarify and implement their organizational vision and culture.

Davidson previously served in a 25-year career in the automotive industry. He began detailing cars and worked his way up to founding Parkway Automotive in Bryant. He sold the business in 2023.

Davidson is an active member of The Bible Church of Little Rock, where he has served as an elder, deacon, and Children’s Ministry Director. He lives in Bryant with his wife, and they have four grown children.

The governor’s announcement was part of a larger slate of executive appointments released on Friday, August 28, 2026. Other Saline County appointees included Jeffery Davidson of Benton to the Board of Visitors of the School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts; Mark Bremer of Benton to the Board of Visitors of the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College; and Jonathan Camp of Bryant to the Tax Appeals Commission.
