UPDATE, MON FEB 20, 2023
If you need visual confirmation that Whataburger is definitely coming to town, here it is. Nevermind that we have told you over and over, I understand that some people will believe it when they see it.
Maybe that’s why Whataburger is having a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, February 21st at 10:00 a.m. The address is 20461 Interstate 30 in Benton, but you’ll find it off the eastbound Alcoa Road exit (121) in the area of Verizon, Bank OZK and Buffalo Wild Wings. See more story below from previous updates.

This small commercial strip is being developed by Elrod Real Estate in Little Rock, owned by David Elrod.
UPDATE, FRI JAN 20, 2023
Yes, the sign came down. You know, the one that said a Whataburger is coming to town. And so the rumors began to spread. “Is Whataburger still coming?” “Did they back out?” “The one in Little Rock already broke ground!”
Social media is wonderful for getting the word out to lots of people, but quantity doesn’t always come packaged with quality. In other words, just because several people are saying it, that doesn’t make it true. Ask where they heard the info. Decide if “my neighbor said it online” is an acceptable resource. Sometimes it is. Many times, it isn’t. Unless I’m your neighbor – because I spoke with a representative for the developer this morning and got the real info.
The sign came down because the lot needs to be ready for trucks to come through. Because they are going to begin cleaning up the landscape and leveling to ready it for construction – yes, construction of a Whataburger. It is still coming. The building will have other businesses in it as well.
You can see the illustration as the top of this article. All those businesses may not come, so the illustration is just for reference, but Whataburger is still coming. According to this representative for the project, it might take until the end of this year to complete – maybe by Fall – but Whataburger is still coming.
When people ask you who you heard it from, tell them to go to MySaline.com and type Whataburger in the search blank at the top. Or Wataburger. Or What-a-burger. Or Whattaburger. However you spell it, Whataburger is still coming!
Note the article below that we published in August 2022. It has more pictures, the address, and other details. Please share this article as well. Thanks!
ORIGINAL STORY, MON AUG 29, 2022
It’s not even built yet, but it’s for lease and already has two tenants. The sign in the grass at the edge of the road says there is up to 3,000 square feet available in this commercial property at 7520 Alcoa Road. When built, the building will sit at the west side of Alcoa Road and the south side of the Interstate 30 Frontage Road.
Most of you are less interested in the building that the fact that you’re seeing a Whataburger logo in the illustration, right? I wish I had information to release to you about the timeline, but that’s all I can say for now. But go ahead and fight it out in the comments: Some of you will be ecstatic and some of you will be disappointed. Which side are you on? 🍔

Whataburger, on the left, will have a drive-thru. Sleep Number will be on the right, and the middle is currently available for lease.
The Whataburger chain had its 72nd birthday this month. The founder, Harmon Dobson, opened the first location in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 8th, 1950. There are currently six Whataburger restaurants in Arkansas – two in Fayetteville and one each in Magnolia, Rogers, Springdale and Texarkana. There are nearly 900 locations across 14 states.
Side note before I show you more images – did you know that the north/south section of Alcoa is Alcoa Road, and the east/west section is Alcoa Boulevard?
