Edward “Eddie” Lee Chapman
Edward “Eddie” Lee Chapman, 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 5, 2026. Born on January 7, 1960, to Leonard A. “Lee” and Lorece Chapman in Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Nikki Garner Chapman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years Gene Waynette Pelton Chapman, two daughters Leah (David) Harmon of Beebe, Arkansas, Kalli Chapman of Paducah, Kentucky; stepson Erik Coleman of Benton; stepdaughter Amanda (Chad) Dodge of Deville, Louisiana; sister Donna Waller of Tennessee; grandchildren: Ayden and Michah Garner of Conway; Emory and Jaxon Chapman, both of Paducah, Kentucky; Westin, Madilynn, and Maylee Coleman, all of Benton; Brody Dunnahoo and Dakoda Ballard of Benton and Kason Ballard of Gilbert, Arkansas; cousins Pat & Tina Campbell of Benton; and his beloved dog Maxxi Jane.
Eddie worked a variety of jobs throughout his life to provide for his family. He was always described as a dedicated and loyal employee. He studied architecture and learned to draft and design. He enjoyed being a machinist making small drink cans. He woke before sunrise to prepare the Clinton Library for guests from around the world. He could also make an excellent pizza from scratch!
Eddie had a faith testament and was a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.
Eddie graduated from Benton High School in 1978. He loved to relive his glory days as a proud Fighting Panther! He was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan, loved attending softball games and listening to his favorite band, Journey all while drinking copious cups of coffee.
The family would like to thank the Gentiva hospice team. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the charity closest to your heart in his memory.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Bonnie Jean Crowson
Bonnie Jean Crowson, 92, of Benton, Arkansas, peacefully entered Heaven’s gates on June 2, 2026. True to her final wishes, she was surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her own home when she passed.
Bonnie was born in Bauxite on April 10th, 1934. She graduated from Bauxite High School in 1952 and was a life-long Bauxite Miner.
Bonnie married William Crowson “Dub” on July 10th, 1953. The two met in school many years prior and shared a beautiful marriage of 68 years until Dub’s passing in July 2021.
She enjoyed a fulfilling banking career that spanned several decades at institutions like Benton State Bank and First National of Little Rock. She loved her work so much that retirement wouldn’t stick – she actually went back to work and stayed several more years.
Bonnie had a deep passion for travel, exploring all of the United States, and visiting many countries alongside her husband and sister, Sherry. At home, she channeled that same sense of beauty into her love for flowers, creating a picturesque backyard oasis that brought her joy for many years. Photography must be mentioned, as she has thousands of pictures of her flowers and travels.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, William Crowson; her parents, Woodrow and Dorothy Smith; brothers, Dale and Don Smith; sister, Sherry Rylander; and nephew, Glen Smith.
Bonnie leaves behind to cherish her memory: nephews, Gary Smith (Carol) and Rick Kelly of Ohio; cousins, Kelley and Kathrine Smith; and a host of family and friends.
Our family wants to thank Gentiva Hospice and nurses Mindy and Katie Bennett for their care and compassion. Thank you to Jessica Berry, N.P., with Midsouth Transient, for going above and beyond to get care started.

Words can’t express our gratitude to Bonnie’s personal caregivers, Haleigh Sawyer, Linda Cook, and Daniel Smith. She had a special love for each one of them.
Officiating the services will be Brother Terry Parish and Brother Kim Hammer. On Saturday, June 13th, visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church, 19200 I-30 Frontage Rd., in Benton, with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Services have been entrusted to Smith Benton Funeral Home. Any flowers or cards for the family can be delivered to 322 N. Market St., Benton, AR.
Final interment will follow at a later date at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville, AR.
