Jacquelyn “Jackie” Homan
Jacquelyn “Jackie” Homan, age 94, of Benton, AR passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born in Monroe, LA to Tilton and Anna Lois Hankins. Despite her doting mother dressing her in dainty dresses with hair bows and socks dyed to match, she loved being outdoors climbing trees and roller skating down the sidewalks. In school she was often considered the “teacher’s pet” and was entrusted with many student-desired errands. Jackie later attended Northeast Louisiana State.
She met the love of her life, Jack Homan, in 1948, and they were married three years later. After Jack’s military service was completed, they moved to his hometown of Benton, AR to start a family. It was important to them both that Jackie stay home and raise their 3 daughters rather than working outside the home. She considered motherhood her greatest purpose along side sharing her faith in Jesus Christ with others. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton for over 60 years. In her younger years she served teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and was actively involved in Training Union. After raising her daughters, Jackie got her real estate license and began working with her husband at Thomas Real Estate. They made a great team for many years.
