John Daniel Allen
John Daniel Allen age 64 of Pearcy, Arkansas, passed away quietly on April 9, 2026 surrounded by family. He was born March 20, 1962 in Benton, Arkansas.
Johnny always found joy and peace living in Hot Springs around the lake. This was his happy place.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Mary Lou Allen.
He is survived by his son, Jonathan Allen and daughter Leslea Zeno; two grandchildren, Jaxon Allen and Lawson Zeno; three sisters, Vickey Wingerter, Patty Bennett (David) and Linda Creasey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
No services will be held at Johnny’s request.
The family would like to thank the staff at Alcoa Pines and Gentiva Hospice, and a special thank you to Teresa Roseberry for the care provided to Johnny and the family.

Cathrine “Cathie” Marie Ammons
Cathrine “Cathie” Marie Ammons, age 77, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away on April 7, 2026, at Saline Memorial Hospital, peacefully, with family at her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Cathie was born on February 2, 1949, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Ellis and Lulu Sanders. She grew up in Little Rock, where she developed a deep love for family, community, and friendship—values that remained with her throughout her life.
She was a proud graduate of Little Rock Central High School and went on to build a respected career in the insurance industry as a claims adjuster. Cathie was known for her fairness, dependability, and compassion in her work, always mindful of the people behind each claim.
On September 2, 1967, Cathie married Richard Ammons at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Richard survives her, and their family remained a central part of Cathie’s life.
Family was the heart of everything Cathie did. She was a devoted wife and mother, and an especially proud grandmother. Few things brought her more joy than watching her sons and grandsons play sports, cheering them on with enthusiasm and pride. Time spent with family—at games, gatherings, or simply together—was what she treasured most.
Cathie is survived by her husband, Richard Ammons; her sons, Pat Ammons (wife April Ammons, sons Blake Ammons and Ryan Ammons) and Tim Ammons (son Luke Ammons); her brother, Rodney Sanders; her sister, Faye Poe-Davis; and many extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lulu and Ellis Sanders, and her sister, Jeanie Holland.
A woman of faith, Cathie was a devoted member of New Life Church in Saline County, where she found comfort, strength, and a loving church family.
Cathie truly enjoyed life. She loved camping, Mardi Gras Parades, and attending car shows. She also had a passion for trivia and was well known for her quick wit and sharp comebacks. A gifted storyteller, Cathie never missed an opportunity to share a story, often accompanied by laughter and a sparkle that drew people in. Her humor and warmth made others feel instantly comfortable and valued.
A Visitation Celebration of life will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas.

Gloria Maxine Sims
Gloria Maxine Sims passed away on April 9, 2026, in Benton, Arkansas, at the age of 92.
Born on December 25, 1933, in Bryant, Arkansas, Gloria lived a life marked by devotion, grace, and quiet strength. She was a loving, generous, and gentle woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her. Her life was grounded in faith, family, and service, and she will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her.
Gloria was united in marriage to Waymond Sims, and together they shared 69 years of marriage filled with companionship, commitment, and enduring love. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family above all else. She is survived by her husband, Waymond Sims; her daughter, Andrea Gramling and her husband Marty of Springfield, Missouri; her granddaughter, Madison Seiferd; her twin great-grandchildren, Carver Seiferd and Lane Seiferd; and her sister, Carolyn Rushing of Benton, Arkansas. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in the lives and accomplishments of those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Ulmer and Julia Forsyth Ulmer; three brothers, Lloyd Ulmer, Dewitt Ulmer, and Frankie Ulmer; and her sister, Jane Czech. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life, and she carried the legacy of her family with dignity and love.
Gloria attended St. Vincent Nursing School, where she prepared for a career of meaningful service. She later worked as a surgical nurse for 33 years, dedicating herself to the care of others with skill, compassion, and steadiness. Her work was more than a profession—it was a calling that reflected her caring nature and her desire to help others during their most vulnerable moments. Through her years in nursing, she touched countless lives and earned the respect and gratitude of those alongside whom she served.
Outside of her work and family life, Gloria found joy in simple and meaningful pursuits. She loved sewing, cooking, and planting flowers. These interests reflected her thoughtful nature and her appreciation for creating beauty, comfort, and nourishment in everyday life. Whether she was preparing a meal, working with her hands, or tending to her garden, she approached each task with care and love.
Gloria’s life was a testament to devotion, service, and enduring love. She will be remembered for the kindness she extended so freely, the strength she showed with quiet resolve, and the many ways she enriched the lives of others. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the example she set and the love she shared.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home in Benton, with Bro. Tom Hart officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Rest Hills Memorial Park, located at 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117.
