Everette Fair Crook
Everette Fair Crook, 86, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026. He was born on June 12, 1940, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
E.F lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and love for his family. A skilled steelworker by trade, he was proud to have helped construct two of America’s most iconic landmarks: the St. Louis Arch and the Twin Towers in New York City. After his years as a steelworker, E.F and his beloved wife, Barbara Crook, owned and operated Twin City Nursery. Together, they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, hard work, and family.
E.F loved the outdoors. If he wasn’t holding a fishing pole, you could usually find him on a dozer or backhoe—doing what he loved most. He was happiest working with his hands, spending time in nature, and making memories with those he loved. He was also a faithful member of Christ Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Louise Crook; sons, Virgil Lee Crook, Loren Everette Crook; daughters, Melody Ann Spikes and Janice Arlene Colebank.
E.F is survived by his two children Bobby Allen (Debbie Allen), Stevie Allen; his brother, Jim Crook; his grandchildren, Cody Jackson (Mallory Jackson), Dustin Jackson, Erin Bowman (Brad Bowman), and Erica Longinotti (Mark Longinotti); along with many cherished great-grandchildren(9) and great-great-grandchildren(10).
E.F will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his quiet strength, his devotion to his family, and his love of fishing and heavy equipment. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply and the many lives he touched throughout his 86 years.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 13 at Ashby Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Shawn Dudley will be officiating.
