Steven Ray Howell

Steven Ray Howell, age 71, of Benton, passed away peacefully at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Arkansas, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Steve was born at home on August 1st, 1953, to the late Stacy Howell & the late Ellon (Abbott, Howell) Turley in Clay, Arkansas.
Steve studied Mathematics, Computer Science and Electronics at EACC and graduated with his Associates Degree, Applied Science Class of 1982. Steve studied Mathematics and Electronics at Arkansas Tech University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1984. Prior to his schooling Steve served his country in the United States Army and spent time in Korea, something that was so horrific that he never discussed. Steve was owner of P & S Scale with certification as required by the Bureau of Standards of Arkansas from October 5, 1994, until he was no longer able to work due to a work-related injury. Prior to his injury Steve loved spending time with his wife, hunting, fishing and working in the yard.
Steve was preceded in death by his son, Steven Howell, his father, Stacy Howell, his mother, Ellon Abbott Howell Turley, his brother, Lannie Howell, sister-in-law Linda Howell and a grandson, Bryson Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Phyllis Howell of the home. Four sisters, Peggy (Patton) Haycraft, Nancy Jumper, Madonna Strickland, and Lisa (Larry) Derrick, his three daughters, Brandy (Rob) Muns, of Searcy, Lea Ann Howell, of Heber Springs, Heather (Donald) Jones of Wynne. One bonus son, Chris (Lori) Cullum, of Fayetteville, one bonus daughter, Marla (Jason) Murphy of Benton. Fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, one uncle, Jerry Abbott, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
