UPDATE JAN 9, 2026
Authorities are investigating after the vehicle of a missing Saline County woman was discovered in a wooded area in Poyen on Thursday, January 8, 2026, with a deceased individual inside.
A local hunter located the black Lexus IS 250—bearing Arkansas license plate 821 UVX—belonging to Arlinda Cullins, 55, of Haskell. Cullins had been reported missing on August 15, 2025, and had not been seen since.
The hunter contacted 911 after coming across the vehicle deep in the woods. Responding officers confirmed that a deceased person was inside the car. However, law enforcement officials say they have not yet positively identified the body.
Haskell Police Chief Eddie Tackett said the remains have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for confirmation. “We can’t say for sure if it’s Ms. Cullins until we receive results from the State Crime Lab,” Tackett stated.
Cullins’ disappearance sparked a months-long search involving multiple law enforcement agencies and volunteers. The discovery of the vehicle brings a significant development to a case that has weighed heavily on the community.
