It’s going to be a very patriotic football game on Friday night between the Panthers and the Rams. A special pre-game 9/11 tribute featuring a massive 60-by-30-foot U.S. flag on the field will take place before kickoff at the upcoming Benton Panthers game against the Lakeside Rams.
The ceremony will bring the community together to honor military members, first responders, and those lost in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Read more below.
The pre-game presentation is part of a national initiative titled “100 Flags,” organized to mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The ceremony is designed to foster community unity, remembrance, and gratitude while honoring individuals who serve and sacrifice for the nation.
The special tribute is sponsored by WoodmenLife as one of 100 similar ceremonies taking place across the country. Families, students, sports fans, veterans, first responders, and community members are all invited to attend and participate in the pre-game honoring.
Event organizers encourage all community members in attendance to stand together on the field before kickoff to reflect, remember, and pay tribute to those impacted by the events of September 11.
The football game will be played at Lakeside High School in Hot Springs, Friday, September 11th at 7PM. Get tickets online at https://gofan.co/app/school/AR4644.
