Arkansas U.S. Senate candidate Hallie Shoffner will host a public meet-and-greet Tuesday evening in Benton, offering Saline County residents an opportunity to hear about her campaign and ask questions.
The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14 at 101 S. Market Street in downtown Benton. It is free and open to the public.
Organizers say the event will include a discussion of Shoffner’s platform and priorities, along with time for attendees to engage directly with the candidate.
Shoffner is a sixth-generation Arkansas farmer and small-business owner from Newport in the Arkansas Delta. She previously operated her family’s farm for several years, working in row crop production including soybeans, rice, corn, cotton and wheat.
Her campaign has emphasized issues affecting agriculture, rural communities and working families across the state.
Shoffner has said her decision to run for office followed challenges in the agricultural sector, including rising costs and changing market conditions, which led to the closure of her family’s farming operation.
Shoffner holds a degree from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Public Service from the Clinton School of Public Service.
Her professional background includes work in conservation, agriculture and regional food systems. She is also a Presidential Leadership Scholar and serves on the board of the Arkansas Foodbank.
Tuesday’s meet-and-greet is part of a series of campaign stops across Arkansas.
