Fifteen-time Grammy Award winner and Country Music Hall of Fame member Ricky Skaggs will bring his renowned bluegrass group Kentucky Thunder to the Woodlands Auditorium in Hot Springs Village on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026.
Presented by the Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association, the concert offers area residents a chance to see the country and bluegrass icon in an intimate performance setting. Read more below.
The concert is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Woodlands Auditorium, a 654-seat performing arts center located within the Ponce De Leon Center at 1101 DeSoto Boulevard.
General admission tickets are $55.00 plus a $1.65 processing fee, bringing the total cost to $56.65 per ticket.
Skaggs, who received his first mandolin at age five in Kentucky and performed with bluegrass legends Bill Monroe and Flatt & Scruggs as a young prodigy, has enjoyed a career spanning more than five decades.
Over his career, he achieved 12 number-one country hits in the 1980s, earned eight Country Music Association awards—including Entertainer of the Year in 1985—and won 15 Grammy Awards. He holds inductions in the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame, and the National Fiddler Hall of Fame, and was awarded the National Medal of Arts in 2020.
Performing alongside Skaggs is Kentucky Thunder, an acclaimed ensemble featuring Russ Carson on banjo, Justus Ross on lead guitar, Troy Engle on vocals and multiple instruments, Gavin Kelso on bass, Mike Rogers on tenor vocals and rhythm guitar, and Billy Contreras on fiddle.
