This milestone marks not only the official END of the 3/8¢ countywide sales tax approved by voters on November 6, 2018, but also the celebration of the Campus being paid in full—six years ahead of schedule. The bond was originally projected to be paid off in 2031.
“The people of Saline County made a decision to invest in an uncommon opportunity of education and a stronger future for our citizens,” said Saline County Judge Matt Brumley. “The SCCTC is paid for, the 3/8 cent sales tax has been retired and the benefit for our youth and Saline County businesses will continue to grow exponentially.”
Since opening, the SCCTC has welcomed hundreds of tours and thousands of students. Many have earned certifications in high-demand fields such as welding, automotive, construction, networking, and nursing. The Campus stands as a model of what can be accomplished when a community comes together to invest in its future.
The public is invited to the event. The SCCTC is located west of Exit 114, at 13600 Interstate 30, Benton, Arkansas.
