We all love our Southwest Egg Rolls, but the restaurant must follow state guidelines and get inspected before re-opening.

The Chili’s Grill & Bar in Benton, Arkansas, is temporarily closed following a kitchen fire Wednesday morning. Read more below.

The fire was quickly doused by an employee. No injuries were reported, but the restaurant will remain closed pending a state health inspection.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. at the restaurant located at 20725 Interstate 30. According to Benton Fire Chief Russ Evans, the fire originated below the fryer vats, and an employee was able to put it out immediately using a fire extinguisher.

Responding units from the Benton Fire Department arrived to assess the scene and confirmed the fire was fully extinguished, subsequently canceling any backup assistance.

Because the fire broke out before the restaurant opened for the day, there were no customers inside. All on-site staff members evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.

A restaurant representative confirmed that the establishment will remain closed on Wednesday.

Under Arkansas regulations, the restaurant must complete clean-up operations and pass a formal inspection by the Arkansas Department of Health before it is permitted to reopen to the public.
