CJCOHN is in need of lots of volunteers to help with their Christmas Basket program. See dates and duties below, as well as general info on getting help, donating, or volunteering.

Volunteer Opportunities – Just show up in work clothes, park outside the gate and come in to help!
Mon Dec 15, 10AM – Repackage candy
Tues Dec 16, 10AM – Unload apples, oranges and potatoes then repackage.
Wed Dec 17, 10AM – set up for senior supplement
Thur Dec 18, 9AM – Pack regular and Christmas Senior Supplement
Fri Dec 19, 10AM until done – Do any last minute setups for Christmas baskets (move clothing racks,move boxes, etc…)
Sat Dec 20, (9AM-3:30PM) Christmas basket packing & distribution.
GETTING HELP:
Food & Clothing
Food and clothing distribution day are normally on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, but in December, there is only one day, and that was December 3rd. Distribution begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m., unless food runs out. In that case, the gates will close early.
CJCOHN is located at 103 E. Elm Street, Benton, Arkansas. Pay attention to people directing vehicles around the building, so the line doesn’t block traffic or driveways.
Christmas Baskets
Registration for Christmas Baskets has ended. All clients who have already registered will pick up Christmas Baskets on Saturday, December 20. Each registered client received an assigned time to pick up food and those who qualified to receive toys will be directed to the facility to collect toys and gifts for teens.
Most questions regarding distribution, services, and donation requests are addressed below. Photo identification will be required in order to receive assistance. CJCOHN serves residents of Saline County, Arkansas.
MONETARY DONATIONS:
Monetary donations are always needed and may be mailed to CJCOHN, P. O. Box 1146, Benton, AR 72018. Community support is greatly appreciated.
DROPPING OFF ITEMS:
Clothing, shoes, and handbag donations are being accepted.
Please no women’s clothing at this time.
Best days to drop off donated items are the first and third Tuesday mornings each month from 9:00 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Please do not deliver donations on Wednesdays when volunteers are busy helping clients.
Immediate Needs
Size newborn through size 14 children’s winter clothing and coats for children.
Newborn size diapers.
Toothbrushes and hairbrushes.
16-ounce jars of peanut butter.
Free clothing for clients will be available on distribution days only.
Clients should tell the intake volunteer they need clothing.
Clients will be allowed to enter the building for 15 minutes to select clothing items.
Clients accompanied by children may be asked to wait outside briefly because only two children may be inside the clothing area at the same time due to safety precautions.
VOLUNTEERING:
Volunteers are welcomed to help with tasks on the first and third Tuesdays and Wednesdays each month.
Arrive around 9 a.m. on the first and third Tuesdays, to help pack and set up food for distribution the following day.
Food distribution, takes place on the first and third Wednesdays, begins at 9 a.m. and ends no later than 2 p.m.
You’ll either help clients get registered and checked in before driving through the parking lot, it help place food inside their vehicles.
Please note that CJCOHN does not offer assistance with utilities or rent.
