The race for City and Town office is underway across Saline County. As of this writing, 56 prospective candidates have picked up petitions for the upcoming November 3, 2026, election. So far, eight seats are being challenged by one or more new contenders. Read more below.
Recent petition logs reveal a growing list of residents seeking mayoral, city council, and other key administrative positions in cities including Alexander, Bauxite, Benton, Bryant, Haskell, Shannon Hills and Traskwood. Here’s the list of those who have already picked up a petition:
