The Saline County Quorum Court will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday February 17th at the courthouse in Benton, with updates planned on the winter storm disaster emergency and county safety enhancements. See the agenda below, as well as minutes from the previous meeting.

SALINE COUNTY QUORUM COURT MINUTES – JANUARY 20, 2026
The Saline County Quorum Court met on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in Courtroom #3 at the Saline County Courthouse. County Judge Matt Brumley called the meeting to order. Justice of the Peace lim Whitley gave the invocation and Justice of the Peace Rick Bellinger Roll call taken with 12 members present.
Motion by Rick Bellinger and seconded by Clint Chism to approve the Minutes from the December 15, 2025 Quorum Court Meeting. Motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
NEW BUSINESS:
Exhibit “A”. Motion by CJ Engel and seconded by Karen Crowson to suspend rules and read by title only. Motion passed unanimously by voice vote. Motion by Rick Bellinger and seconded by Keith Kellum to approve Ordinance amending the 2025 Saline County Budget Ordinance No. 2024-35. Roll call vote; motion passed unanimously. Ordinance 2026-1. DISCUSSION:
Judge Matt Brumley gave an update on various projects for the County.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Judge Matt Brumley shared the MLK prayer breakfast held on January 19, 2025 went well.
An update was given on the warming center at Northside Church of Christ. It will open January 23, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. There will be sign up for volunteers published on Sign-Up Genius website. Judge Brumley also stated OEM and the Road Department have been having daily meetings in preparation of the winter weather coming. A report was also given on views to the County’s website.
Peter Powell with Animal Control gave a report on animal control.
