Millie “Sally” Penix
Millie “Sally” Penix, age 78, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026 peacefully at home in Tull. She was born January 3, 1948 to Herbert W. Scudder Sr. and Evelyn Doris Scudder. Sally was a beloved wife to Alfred “Jack” Penix with whom she loved and shared many wonderful years with. She carried a deep love for her family.
Sally is preceded in death by her husband; parents; four sisters, a baby sister, Mary Evelyn Meyers, Katherine Louise Petty, and Virginia Dale King; sister-in-law, Eva Joyce Scudder; and a great-nephew, Nicholas Ammons.
She is survived by two brothers, Herbert W. Scudder Jr. and Robert L. Scudder (Diane); numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 9 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bauxite. Minister will be Beo. Adam Stephens.

Jeffery Scott “Jeff” VanPelt
Jeffery Scott “Jeff” VanPelt, 60, of East End, Arkansas, passed away September 26, 2026. He was born September 23, 1966, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Sammy VanPelt and the late Linda (Hawk) Bischoff.
Jeff was truly a jack of all trades and could fix, build, or figure out just about anything he set his mind to. He enjoyed working with his hands and could often be found tinkering with cars and rebuilding engines. Jeff also loved to cook, and in his younger years, he dreamed of becoming a chef.
Of all his interests, Jeff’s greatest passion was riding his motorcycle. He loved the freedom of the open road and especially looked forward to the several bike trips he took each year with his riding club. Those rides, the friendships made along the way, and the memories created on the road brought him great joy.
Jeff will be remembered for his many talents, his adventurous spirit, and the way he enjoyed life doing the things he loved most.
Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Linda (Hawk) Bischoff.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his father, Sammy VanPelt; sisters, Lynn VanPelt and Tiffany Sliger and her husband, Bill; girlfriend, Tasha; and many other family members and friends who loved Jeff and will miss him always.
A graveside service will be held at Rosemont Cemetery, 1010 Military Road, Benton, Arkansas, on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Viewing will begin at 9:00 AM, with the service following at 9:30 AM.
