Scottie Pippen & Hornets teams celebrate new basketball court in Bryant

The facility refresh included new court surfacing, vibrant paint, and updated basketball goals. As the sun set, municipal officials turned on the court’s overhead lights to showcase the illuminated space for evening play.
Special appearances during the grand opening included the Bryant High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, who conducted open practices on the new surface. Members of the middle school’s Club Unify basketball team also participated, highlighting inclusive sports opportunities in the community. Attendees also enjoyed free food provided by an on-site food truck while supplies lasted.
Bryant Mayor Chris Treat noted the historical personal and community connection to the park venue.
“Mills Park has always held a special place in our community, and this basketball court is part of that history,” Treat said. “It’s where the first Joe Treat Basketball Camp was held, creating memories and opportunities for young athletes right here in Bryant. Renovating this court is about more than fresh paint and new equipment; it’s about investing in the places where our kids grow, friendships are built, and a love for the game is passed on to the next generation.”
City officials emphasized that the project reflects ongoing municipal investments in public spaces that foster youth recreation, healthy living, and community connection.
