The City of Bryant introduced a plan for residents and businesses to save money on water utility – by using less water. Read more below about conservation and how to monitor your usage.
The City issued the following statement on September 8th, 2025:
The City of Bryant is committed to maintaining a transparent and responsible approach to water and sewer services. On September 2, 2025, the City’s Water/Sewer Advisory Committee reviewed the 2025 Water and Sewer Rate Study for the first time.
The study recommends a rate increase, but Mayor Treat and his team were able to lower the infrastructure fee, resulting in the potential for a lower bill overall.
“Although the rate per unit is increasing,” said Mayor Chris Treat, “the decrease in the infrastructure fee means that residents who use water efficiently should see a lower overall bill. Our message is simple: Use less, pay less. By conserving water, households can save money while helping the City maintain and invest in critical water infrastructure. Conserving water also protects the limited resources for future generations, ensuring Bryant continues to grow responsibly and sustainably.”
The City is encouraging public participation throughout this process. Residents are invited to attend the following September meetings and public participation opportunities:
Community Engagement Committee: Sept 15 at 6 PM – Boswell Municipal Complex
Rate Study/Impact Fee Town Hall: Sept 18 at 6 PM – Bishop Center
Special Water/Sewer Advisory Committee: Sept 30 at 5 PM – Boswell Municipal Complex
City Council: Sept 30 at 6:30 PM – Boswell Municipal Complex
The Rate Study/Impact Fee Town Hall on September 18th will allow residents to ask questions and meet with their representatives. The committee and Council meetings allow for public comment from residents.
Following these engagements, City Council will vote to adopt the 2025 rate study and associated water and sewer rates.
Mayor Treat emphasized, “This approach balances sustainable investment in our water system with the opportunity for families to save money. How much a household pays depends on how much water they use, so every gallon counts. Bryant residents have a unique advantage right now, and we encourage everyone to take part in these meetings to learn more and plan for their household water use.”
Residents are encouraged to sign up for WaterScope, an online portal that enables you to monitor your water usage in real-time. Visit https://bit.ly/BryantWaterscope for instructions on how to sign up.
