An Arkansas woman accessed a nursing home patient’s banking information to steal money and pay for her own personal debts.
On July 3, 2025, Brooke Ruth Cotton, age 46, of Lonoke pleaded guilty to one charge of abuse of adults (exploitation), a Class C felony. She was given five years’ probation concurrently, and ordered to pay a $500 fine and $454.30 in court costs and restitution. In addition, she will complete the drug court program.
“I will continue fighting against Medicaid fraud and holding people accountable for trying to take advantage of Arkansans,” stated Attorney General Tim Griffin. “I am proud of my Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) for their diligence in securing this conviction, especially Special Agent Heath Nelson and Assistant Attorney General Gabrielle Davis-Jones. I also thank Prosecuting Attorney for the Twenty-Third Judicial District of Arkansas, Chuck Graham, for the assistance of his office in this case.”
