Carolyn Louise Herbert
Carolyn Louise Herbert, of Hensley, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord on October 2, 2026, at the age of eighty. She was born August 19, 1946, to Robert Arthur Mann and Nellie Wise Mann.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; two sisters; and her son, Kennith (“Kenny”) Ray Herbert Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Kennith Ray Herbert Sr., her daughter, Sheila Daniel (Brad) of Hensley, and her son, Jeff Herbert of Mabelvale.
She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Lauren Cordell (Alex), Justin Daniel (Taylor), Trent Daniel (Kaitlin), Braylee Garcia (Isaac), and Trevor Daniel, as well as seven great-grandchildren: Elijah, Aria, Madelyn, Elia, Fletcher, Isla, and baby “Daniel” due in January. Lastly, she is survived by one brother, Frank Mann of Shannon Hills, along with a host of family and friends who were dear to her heart.
Carolyn was a lifetime member of Barnett Baptist Church where she participated in—and helped lead—the choir and music program for many years. She also loved teaching children, especially in VBS and Sunday School, and helping anywhere she was needed.
Music and singing were her greatest passions. In her younger years, she and a group of friends sang gospel music for local nursing homes. Later, she formed a southern gospel group called the Mann Family Singers. She, along with some of her siblings, husband, and close friends, traveled around the State singing at local churches.
She also loved crafting and kept ample supplies on hand. Until it became too difficult to travel, she was always up for a trip to Branson. Her greatest joy came from seeing—and being surrounded by—her grands and great-grands. No matter where they were or what was going on around them, when they entered the room, her face would light up.
Carolyn’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the many doctors, nursing staff, therapists, and palliative/hospice team members whose compassionate care made such a difference.
