Bryant High School is celebrating a historic educational milestone as 61 students form the school’s inaugural Associate Degree cohort. The groundbreaking initiative allows students to earn an Associate of Arts in General Studies while simultaneously completing their high school diploma requirements. Read more below.
Established through a partnership between Bryant Public Schools and Arkansas State University Three Rivers, Bryant is the first public school district in Saline County to offer high school students the opportunity to earn an associate degree prior to high school graduation.
The Associate of Arts in General Studies is currently the sole pathway offered in the dual-enrollment program. However, district leaders hope to expand the initiative by adding extra degree pathways and technical certificates in the coming years.
The dual-enrollment program gives participating students a head start on higher education, allowing them to gain college experience and earn postsecondary credentials that prepare them for future academic and career opportunities.
As the first cohort to take part in the program at Bryant High School, the 61 students are setting the standard and paving the way for future Hornets interested in pursuing college degrees while in high school.
