The Bryant Parks and Recreation Department will launch a four-week Youth Archery Program beginning Tuesday, July 14, 2026, giving local students in grades 4 through 12 a chance to learn outdoor recreational skills. The 90-minute instructional sessions will take place every Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM outside The Center at Bishop Park. Read more below.
Certified instructor Ashley Gore will lead the program, bringing specialized Basic Archery Instruction credentials from the National Archery in the Schools Program. Gore also serves as the archery coach for Hurricane Creek Elementary, ensuring participants receive experienced, professional coaching. Classes will take place under the trees next to the Bishop Park maintenance building on Multipurpose Field E1, located at 6401 Boone Road.
To maximize hands-on attention and safety, they are capping registration at 12 participants per session. Bryant Parks and Recreation will supply all necessary gear, including bows, arrows, and targets. However, students who already own archery equipment may bring their own items if they prefer.
The total cost for the full four-class series is $60.00. Parents can register their children through the city’s online recreation portal. Registration closes at 5:00 PM on Monday, July 13, or as soon as the 12-student capacity limit is reached.
Community members who have questions regarding registration or program details can contact Bryant Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator Hunter Bolin directly at 501-529-1053 or via email at [email protected].
