Benton Police responded to reports of gunfire Tuesday morning in a residential area and detained all individuals believed to be involved within about 30 minutes, according to authorities.
Officers were called to the area of Kimberly Drive and Rolla Road around 10:40 a.m. on April 28 after multiple callers reported hearing repeated gunshots and seeing people flee both on foot and in a vehicle.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public and the situation appears to be an isolated incident involving individuals known to one another.

Preliminary findings indicate the incident began as a disturbance between parties at a residence on Kimberly Drive. During the altercation, one party left the scene in a vehicle, and gunfire was exchanged as the vehicle fled the area, according to Benton Police.
The vehicle later left the roadway, and the driver fled on foot. Officers located that individual near Scott Salem Road and took them into custody without incident. Authorities reported that all involved parties were accounted for shortly after the initial call.
At this time, no injuries have been reported in connection with the shooting. The investigation remains active, with detectives executing search warrants and conducting interviews.
