Larry Woodrow Wolf, 80, of Benton, went to meet our heavenly father on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Saline County, Mr. Wolf was born on October 27, 1945, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock to the late Woodrow and Marie Wolf of Benton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Gerald Simons.
He is survived by his wife, Cherry Wolf of Benton, his daughters Melissa, Rebecca, and Laura, his sons-in-law, Pablo Santamaria and Jon Pritchard, his grandchildren, Paloma Herrera and Ryder Pritchard, and his cat, Dallas.
Mr. Wolf was an active member of Spring Creek Baptist Church for the last four years, following a tenure of over 35 years as a member of First Baptist Church. He served as a deacon, an usher, and a director of the adult Sunday school department for numerous years. Furthermore, he served as an alderman on the city council in ward 1, position 1 for several years and was a member of the State Boiler Commission for Arkansas.
Mr. Wolf was known for his sharp wit among those who knew him well; he was affectionately referred to as the poet laureate of Lynnwood drive for his characteristic “roses are red poems.” Larry and Cherry were married for fifty-six years; he often recalled meeting the love of his life on the softball field. He took great pride in being a “girl dad,” teaching his three daughters to play softball, change a tire, wash a car, and maintain a yard.
The family extends its sincere gratitude to the physicians and nurses of the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital for the dedicated care provided during his illness.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Ashby’s Funeral Home of Benton, Arkansas. Dr. Terry Parrish will be officiating.
