Inez Lorene Parker Davasher passed away at her home January 24, 2026, at age 91 years and seven months. Those last seven months bear specific mention as they were quite possibly her most hard-fought, and we are so proud of her strength and grace. While we are heartbroken, we do not grieve as those who have no hope, for we know that when she closed her eyes here on Earth, she opened them in Heaven, standing face to face with Jesus—no walker, no oxygen, no Parkinson tremors. And what a homecoming celebration she must have had with a host of relatives there to greet her.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Lillie Parker, her brothers Otha Parker, Elza Parker, Harold (Tam) Parker, and Ralph Parker, her sister Dora Ledbetter, her husband Bob Davasher, her son Keith Davasher, and her grandson Drew Davasher. Inez is survived by her son Bruce Davasher (Mitzi), daughter Leslie Boyles (Robb), grandchildren Linzi Soules (Neil), Landon Boyles (Maddie), and Jordyn Gay (Jordan), great grandchildren Parker, Peyton, and Zachary Soules, Reese Gay, and Carsyn Drew Gay whose arrival is expected in May. She will also be missed by many extended family members and friends whom she cherished.
Inez was born in Pearcy, Arkansas on June 13, 1934, the youngest of her siblings. Growing up during the depression equipped Inez to be remarkably resourceful. She was a saver and was often known to make something out of nothing! She was always a hard worker and genuinely loved her job in customer service at First Commercial/Regions Bank where she worked until Bob’s battle with Alzheimer’s required her to retire to care for him and boy did she honor her husband in that care. This loving service set quite an example for all her family as to what true love and dedication really look like.
Inez loved her family with her whole heart. One of her favorite things to do as a family was gather for meals. She loved to cook. She also loved to watch Razorback football, basketball, and baseball—and not just watch. Inez knew the game and was always ready to “root the Hogs in” as she would say!
Inez will be dearly missed. Please join us to celebrate her life well lived Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 12:30 pm at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Pinecrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, also at Smith Benton Funeral Home.
Lonnie Charles Branton, 89, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 24, 2026. He promised all who crossed his path during his waking moments of 2026 that he would stay for the first snow fall of the year, and he did, passing quietly in the morning as the snow fell without a sound. Lonnie was born September 8,1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the youngest son of Rachel Wood and Lonnie Wilson Branton, and he was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Raymond and Edgar; and his sisters Elizabeth, Marjorie, and Mary.
On November 22, 1956, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Louise (Waggoner) Branton, whom he credited for pointing him to Jesus. They remained married for 69 years, raised five children, and built a business together. Lonnie is survived by his wife Carolyn; his three sons: Philip, Ross (Julie), Nick (Beth);and two daughters: Keeley Kirksey (Greg) and Catherine Rhodes. As a grandfather, he was surrounded by his angels in life, his grandchildren: Jared Landers (Jessica), Kyle Landers (LeAnne), Angie Neufer (Jordan), Tiffany Stroman (Adam), Thomas Rhodes, Connor Branton, Caitlyn Branton, and Carolyn Rhodes. Then, he received a second chapter of this deep love when he was surrounded by his great grandchildren: Madden, Knox, Remi, Lane, Trace, and Abby Grace. They were a dream Epilogue to Lonnie’s life and never ceased to make him smile.
Throughout his life Lonnie enjoyed spending his free time golfing with friends, traveling with Carolyn, listening to the Highwaymen and Alan Jackson, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks play ball. Lonnie possessed a sharp wit and a sudden, contagious laugh. He loved old movies, creating elaborate grocery lists, and whipping up a pie or two when asked. After 89 years of life and love, Lonnie lived and left a legacy of wonderfully, brave and unique human beings behind. For that we are grateful and confident his faith in Christ secured his place in heaven where he lives on forever.
Plans are pending for a memorial service and family celebration of Lonnie’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Church at Rock Creek Food Bank.
Arrangements entrusted to Smith Family Funeral Homes. Online guestbook: www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
