If you have been registered to vote in Saline County at some point, you’re probably about to get a green or yellow postcard from the Saline County Clerk’s Office. Read more below about what to do when you get the card.
The postcards are being sent through a third-party vendor as part of routine list maintenance required by federal law. The address on the card will be in Chattanooga, TN, and it is the correct address for returning your card.
A statement from the Clerk’s Office says, “Under the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA), election officials must regularly update and maintain accurate voter registration records. The purpose of this effort is to ensure the integrity of the statewide voter registration list by removing duplicate records and ineligible voters in a non-discriminatory and uniform manner.”
See a picture of the cards and explanation below:

Green Postcards are Cancellation Notices: These are sent to voters who did not participate in the last two general elections. Recipients will be moved from Inactive to Removable status. Voters with a Removable status are no longer registered and must complete a new voter registration application in order to vote.
“We want to make sure voters understand that these mailings are not spam or scams—they are an important part of the federally mandated process to maintain an accurate and secure voter roll,” said Saline County Clerk Doug Curtis. “Voters who receive one of these postcards should follow the instructions and respond promptly to ensure their registration status is accurate.”
