Covid Cases Close City of Benton Tuesday and Wednesday
Benton Mayor Tom Farmer confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that there has been at least one employee who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Benton Utilities repairing water main near Riverside Park
According to Benton Utilities, a water crew is on site where a water main has ruptured. Customers in the area of Bird, Commerce, Dale, Airlane, Banner, Henry and surrounding streets will notice reduced to no pressure while the necessary repairs are being made. Estimated time of repair is 5 hours or around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Kroger stores to require customers to wear masks in stores beginning July 22

Benton CEO pleads guilty to charges related to Medicaid overbilling
Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge today announced Chirie Bazzelle pleaded guilty to obstructing governmental operations. Bazzelle is the owner and CEO at New Beginnings Behavioral Health Services (New Beginnings). In 2018 alone, New Beginnings billed the Medicaid program over $5.3 million.
