The Lady Panthers got back on track with a shutout win over Maumelle and beating them 7-0. Rexie Crane continues to look amazing in the circle as she punched out 13 while only giving up a single hit and no runs. KB Moix had an outstanding game going 5 for 5 over the weekend. Azzy Morrow also had a good game going 2-3 at the plate. In the 2nd game against Maumelle, Benton won with another shutout by beating Maumelle 9-0. Bella Villanueva pitched the shutout by only giving up 3 hits and striking out 6 batters. Azzy Morrow had another great game going 3-3 at the plate. Payton Stueart was 1-3 and sent one over the fence for 2 RBI.
Benton has had so many shutouts, but they were shutout by Bentonville 10-0. Despite the shutout, KB Moix was 2-3. Both Anna Claire Lackey and Londyn Burrough were both 1-2. The pitching was lost in this game between Rexie Crane and Bella Villanueva. Crane did have 4 K’s but that was the only bright spot as she gave up 6 hits and 3 earned runs in 4 innings. Villanueva only waved 1 as she gave up 3 hits, 3 walks, and 7 earned runs in only 1.1 innings pitched.
The Lady Panthers quickly bounced back with a 12-1 win over Bentonville West. Everything was clicking this game with the offense and pitching. Azzy Morrow continues to show up by going 3-4 with a triple and 2 RBI. KB Moix was able to go 3-4 as well. Lakin Griffin went 2-4 with 2 runs driven in. Payton Stueart was able to go 2-3 at the plate. Aubree Jackson went 3-4 at the dish. Lastly Anna Claire Lackey was 2-4 at the plate. Benton used 3 pitchers throughout the game in Rexie Crane, Bella Villanueva, and Londyn Burrough. Crane gave up 2 hits in 2 innings of work. Villanueva gave up 4 hits with 2 walks and the only run of the game in 3 innings. Burrough came in to close the game and got the job done with no hits or walks given up.
Now we go over to the baseball team, and they started it off with a 11-0 win over Jacksonville. Sawyer Wilson went 2-3 and came around to score twice in the game. Marcus Bates got a hit and scored 3 runs and showed good vision by drawing 2 walks. Caleb Curry went 0-2 but managed to score a run and rack up 3 RBI. Micah Bates had a sneaky good game going 1-1 with an RBI. Blake Mitchem and Sawyer Wilson performed great on the mound. Mitchem had 4 innings of work and 5 K’s and 2 hits given up. Wilson pitched just one inning but had 2 K’s.
Benton had some deja vu as they had another shutout win over Jacksonville, beating them 15-0. Marcus Bates went 1-2 while also scoring 3 runs and getting an RBI with a walk too. Easton Snellings had a similar stat line by going 2-2 with 3 runs scored and drawing a walk. Caleb Curry was busy at the plate going 1-2 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI with a walk. Blake Mitchem went 0-2 but still managed to get 2 runners to come across. AJ Houston was 2-2 and racked up an RBI. Noah Roberson was able to go 1-2 and scored 2 runs. Brody Duncan went 1-1 at the plate with a run scored and 2 RBI. Evin Campbell was on the bump, and pitched 3 innings and got 4 K’s with 2 walks given up.
Benton did have a 7-2 loss against Fayetteville. No one had any exceptional performances so the Panthers will look to just shake off the loss and move on. The Lady Panthers will also look to just keep winning as they go for back-to-back championships.
