BTown Sports Network is breaks down the week in 2026 Benton Panthers Baseball & Softball.
🥎 The Lady Panthers come out of the gates strong with a 4-0 shutout win over Sheridan Friday, March 6th. The Panthers’ starting pitcher Rexie Crane pitched all 7 innings giving up 7 hits and totaling 7 K’s.
Payton Stueart and Audrey Digiovanna both had a great game at the plate. Stueart went 2/4 with a double and a single while racking up an RBI in the process.
Digiovanna was also 2/4 with a double and a single of her own. Korbin Keene came in clutch in a pinch-hit situation nabbing 2 RBI’s of her own to propel the Panthers to a win.
On Tuesday, March 3rd, the Benton Panthers baseball team beat Searcy 5-0. Central Arkansas commit Sawyer Wilson went 1-3 with an RBI and a walk while also scoring 2 runs.
Sophomore Caleb Curry also went 1-3 at the plate totalling 2 RBI’s and a walk of his own. Another Sophomore in Easton Snellings had a 1-3 game too, and scored a run during the game.
Senior Andrew Hillis had a hit in his only at bat and scored a run. Junior starting pitcher Blake Mitchem had an incredible game racking up 7 K’s, 1 walk, and only allowing 2 hits.
⚾ The Panthers stayed undefeated with a dominant pitching performance from Senior Evin Campbell on Thursday, March 5th.
Campbell went 5 innings with 9 K’s to only 1 walk while giving up a run and just 2 hits. Sophomore Easton Snellings had an incredible day at the plate going 3-4 with an RBI and scoring 2 runs. Senior Noah Roberson went 1-3 driving in 2 RBI and scoring a run of his own.
Benton suffered their first loss of the season against Valley View on Friday, March 6th. Sophomore Landen Pelkey pitched only 2 innings giving up a run, but recording 4 strikeouts to no walks.
Despite the loss, UCA commit Sawyer Wilson and Crowder College commit Marcus Bates had great days at the plate. Wilson went 2-4 from the plate with 2 RBI’s to his name. Bates also went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s, a run scored, and blasting a ball over the fence for a homerun.
The Lady Panthers look to stay hot and continue their way to back-to-back championships. The Benton Baseball team aims to continue their dominance from the mound and the plate to compete for a title this year.
