If you own property that has alligators on it, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) hopes for a chat. They are looking to expand hunting opportunities and scale up the harvest for the upcoming 2026 alligator season. To make that happen, they need a little help from local landowners. Read more below.
If you own or manage land with a thriving gator population and are willing to grant public hunting access this year, the commission is officially calling for applications.
Before you jump in, here is the breakdown of what you need to know:
- One Form Per Pond: If you have multiple properties you want to put on the map, you’ll need to submit a separate application for each individual waterbody.
- Survey Says Yes: By signing up, you are also giving AGFC staff the green light to access your property for essential pre-hunt and post-hunt alligator population surveys.
- Strictly Confidential: You might get a follow-up call from AGFC staff to clarify your answers, but don’t worry—your data won’t be shared. The commission promises to keep your information completely confidential.
