Johnny M. Howard
Johnny M. Howard, 77, of Mabelvale, went to be with his father, mother, and his brother Don on May 12, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. He was born December 30, 1949 in Dewitt, Arkansas to the late William (Eddie) Howard and Ora Belle Howard.
He is survived by two sons, Phillip Howard of Florida and Michael Howard of Dewitt; two sisters, Betty Cockrill of Mabelvale and Carol Hileman of Anna, Illinois; brother, William Edward Howard Jr. of Henderson, Nevada; and lots of family & friends.
Johnny served 9 years in the U. S. Army. He was a hard worker and was known for whistling as he worked. Johnny loved the outdoors including fishing and gardening.
Pallbearers will be Jason Don Howard, William Allen Howard, Shane Marks, Shane Bradley Marks, Wade Marks, Michael Howard, Daniel Howard, Jerry Fairchild, and Drew Howard.
Visitation will be 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 18 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Rick Porter officiating. Burial to follow at Dewitt Cemetery in Dewitt with Bro. Tim Johnson officiating.
Johnny said he would like everyone to attend his service in blue jeans and be comfortable.
Virgil Carl Cypert
Virgil Carl Cypert, 88, of Bryant, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026. He was born on September 9, 1937, in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Virgil was a devoted husband and faithfully shared 64 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Erma (Tullos) Cypert; his brothers, Dale Cypert and Phillip Cypert.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Harrell Cypert; his brother, Kenneth Cypert (wife, Kathy), his sister-in-law, Shirley Cypert, his nephews, Roger Cypert (wife, Andrea) and Sammy Cypert (wife, Kara); his great-nieces, Cydney, Shayna, Claire, Alayna, and Myla Cypert; and one great-nephew, Myles Cypert.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, a graveside service will be held Friday, May 15th at 12:00pm at Pinecrest Cemetery in Alexander, AR. There will be no public visitation.

Phyllis Ann Branstetter
Phyllis Ann Branstetter, 95, of Little Rock passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Little Rock. She was born in Little Rock on August 11, 1930, to Herbert Foreman and Lilyn Cook Foreman.
Phyllis was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and always shared the good news to everyone she came across. She was always smiling and had a heart filled with love that she shared with all of her family. She loved her dog, Erica, who stayed by her side day and night. She will be remembered by all that knew her by her great cooking and the love for her family.
Phyllis was a Licensed Practical Nurse and devoted many years of service to Baptist Health Medical Center, where she faithfully cared for countless patients throughout her career. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her caring spirit, and the love she shared with those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of nearly 50 years, Millard Branstetter; three sons, Milton, Dan, and James Branstetter; a brother, Herbert Daniel Foreman; a sister, Carolyn Sue Dinsmore; a grandson, Michael Stivers; a great-grandchild, Christian Andrew Turley; and other extended family members.
She is survived by her son, Joe Branstetter, and her daughter, Milynda Davis, both of Little Rock as well as a daughter-in-law, Kim Branstetter; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home.
Ralph J.M. Puckett
Ralph J.M. Puckett, 81, of Alexander, Arkansas, met his Lord and Savior face to face on May 6, 2026.
Born on September 14, 1944, in Benton, Arkansas, Ralph was the son of Ralph Puckett and Melba Puckett, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his three sisters, Delores Puckett, Joyce Puckett, and Linda Pelton.
Ralph was a proud Vietnam veteran who faithfully served his country. Following his military service, he worked for Alcoa, where he later retired. He then went on to operate his own painting business.
After retirement, Ralph and his beloved wife enjoyed many days spent fishing, hunting, horse racing, cruising, and gathering with family and friends. He was a member of Christ Church in Alexander, Arkansas.
Ralph’s greatest catch was the love of his family, and his legacy will live on in every sunset over the water and every family gathering filled with his stories.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 58 years, Vickie Parish Puckett; his children, Michelle Puckett, Melissa Puckett Newcomb and husband Ryan, and Adam Puckett and wife Nina; his four grandsons, Cole Rusher, Brenan Newcomb, Kamron Puckett, and Landon Ball; as well as extended family members and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 19, 2026, at Christ Church, 11800 Vimy Ridge Road, Alexander, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., with services beginning at 3:00 p.m.
