Due to an extended forecast calling for multiple days of sustained subfreezing temperatures, the Saline County Community Warming Center has been extended through Monday, February 2, at 10 a.m.
See below for details and how to volunteer or donate, plus resources and other info.
The Warming Center was previously scheduled to close on Thursday, January 29, at 10:00 a.m. With the additional days of operation, there is an urgent need for volunteers to help staff the facility. Volunteers are needed to cover a variety of shifts, including overnight shifts beginning at midnight tonight.
Since opening Friday night, approximately 30 individuals have come through the doors of the Warming Center. Thanks to the generosity of the people of Saline County, the center currently has an abundance of supplies and resources and is well prepared to continue operations during this prolonged period of extreme cold.
As subfreezing temperatures persist, officials remind residents that the Warming Center provides more than shelter—it offers compassion, conversation, and hope during dangerous winter conditions.

THANKS
Saline County officials extend their sincere appreciation to the many volunteers who have already served—helping keep the facility clean, ensuring adequate supplies for residents, and most importantly, taking time to visit with and care for those seeking shelter.
Special thanks are also extended to the volunteers with Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief, who are providing three warm meals a day to both residents and volunteers. Gratitude is also shared with Street Ministry for their leadership and dedication in helping operate the Warming Center and ensuring residents feel valued and cared for.
Additionally, appreciation is extended to the Benton Police Department and the Saline County Sheriff’s Office for their continued support and for helping ensure the Warming Center remains a safe environment for everyone who enters.
