Saline County sheriff’s deputies seized two firearms, a significant quantity of illegal drugs, and approximately $3,000 in cash during a proactive patrol stop in East End. The incident occurred after deputies pulled over a vehicle for operating without insurance. Read more below.
According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, deputies initiated the traffic stop and immediately detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. This odor established probable cause for deputies to conduct a physical search of the car.
The search resulted in the discovery and seizure of the following items:
- Over 2,800 grams of marijuana,
- 36 grams of ecstasy pills,
- two firearms, and
- approximately $3,000 in U.S. currency.
Deputies also recovered additional drug-related paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Sheriff Rodney Wright and Sheriff-Elect Dustin Robertson credited Deputy Smith and Investigator Navarro for their proactive enforcement efforts and dedication to keeping local communities safe. The case remains under active investigation as authorities pursue appropriate criminal charges.
