The Saline County Library will host a special evening of music and storytelling on April 15, featuring the Saline Symphony Orchestra and conductor Alex Polyakov.
The Saline County Library will offer a unique blend of music and storytelling later this month with a special program titled “Stories in Sound: An Evening with the Saline County Symphony Orchestra.”
The event is set for Wednesday, April 15th from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. at the Benton branch, where patrons of all ages are invited to experience how music can bring stories to life.
Presented in partnership with the Saline Symphony Orchestra, the program will be led by conductor Dr. Alex Polyakov and will give attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the orchestra’s upcoming spring concert, Narratives and Soundscapes, scheduled for April 26th.
During the event, audience members will learn how composers use music to tell stories, with live demonstrations, discussion, and opportunities for interaction. The program will highlight works such as Eric Coates’ “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” offering an example of how narrative and music come together in performance.
Organizers say the event is designed to be engaging and educational, giving the community a closer look at the creative process behind orchestral music while providing a preview of the full concert later in the month.
The Saline County Library, which has served residents since 1931, regularly offers community programs and educational events at its locations in Benton, Bryant and East End. Library officials encourage residents to attend and enjoy this interactive evening celebrating music, storytelling, and the arts.
