Below are the in-person and virtual programs taking place at the Saline County Library for this week. There is something for all ages, and different categories of activities, like fitness, games, language, crafts, stories, clubs, and of course a New Year celebration this time! Read more below:
ADULT PROGRAMS:
Chair Yoga
Monday, December 29: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Kick off your week with a Mindful Monday Chair Yoga session. Come as you are and enjoy a low-impact, low-stress, and accessible workout. No equipment needed. No prior experience needed.
East End Elevenses
Monday, December 29: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Try out a little bit of everything with East End Elevenses! Each week will be a different activity for adults and will include a book club, yoga, crafts and recipe swaps!

Library Card Shufflers

Come play cards with us. We play all kinds of card games like Canasta, Hand and Foot, Hearts, Spades, Rummy, and more. Bring some friends along or just come and make new ones. No prior gameplay experience needed – we are always happy to teach a new player.

Tai Chi

Connect your mind, body, and breath in this low-impact, meditative movement session. All levels welcome. No equipment needed.
Pilates
Friday, January 2: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Join us for a mat-based Pilates class with a Yoga twist. All levels are welcome. Bring your own yoga mat if desired, but all equipment will be available.
Adultish Book Club
Saturday, January 3: 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Join us on the first Saturday in January to talk about the Thursday Murder Club series by Richard Osman! This meeting will be our Holiday Party so we will have treats, prizes, and more!

Noon Year’s Eve Storytime & Party

Help us ring in the new year a little bit early! This special storytime will include our favorite books of 2025, songs, dancing, and a NYE countdown activity.
Rising Stars (FULL)
Friday, January 2: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Does your child love to act or want to start acting but does not know where to begin? The Saline County Library is hosting an acting course. We will go over everything your child needs to learn to start acting. We will also put on a play at the end of the programming year in May. The class will be held weekly from 10-11 at the main library in Benton. Registration is required for this event.

Acoustic Music Jams
Saturday, January 3: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Acoustic Music Jam is back at the East End Library every first and third Saturday! All skill levels and ages are welcome as we play across genres, from folk and Americana to blues, rock, bluegrass and more. We’ll pull up some chairs, sit in a circle and take turns leading tunes. Share your favorite song, learn something new, and have fun making music and new friends. If you want to help someone out on their tune, go for it! If you’re not a musician and just want to listen, you can do that, too! Let’s make some music at the library!
