Saline County committees to consider school resource officers for Bauxite and Sheridan

Two Saline County committees are set to meet on Monday to consider appointing

a waterworks board member,
several items going in and out of the budget, and
the hire of school resource officers for schools in the Bauxite and Sheridan districts.

June 1st Meeting Agenda:

The first page outlines the upcoming joint committee meetings scheduled for June 1, 2026, at 6:00 P.M. at the Saline County Courthouse.

Public Works and Safety Committee: a board appointment to the waterworks/wastewater board in Woodland Hills.

Exhibit C: An ordinance formally establishing and funding the two requested SRO positions. Meeting Minutes: May 4th

Public Works and Safety : Led by Chairman Pat Bisbee, the committee unanimously approved amended minutes from their April meeting. Judge Brumley presented a proclamation for Arkansas Foster Care Month to representatives of “The Call” and discussed establishing an advisory committee for an animal control ordinance. He and JP Bellinger also noted they would send a letter opposing quartz mining permits to protect local watersheds.

Finance : Led by Chairman Josh Curtis, the committee unanimously approved their amended April minutes. They voted unanimously to pass an ordinance appropriating state funds for election worker stipends.
