Two Saline County committees are set to meet on Monday to consider appointing
- a waterworks board member,
- several items going in and out of the budget, and
- the hire of school resource officers for schools in the Bauxite and Sheridan districts.

June 1st Meeting Agenda:
The first page outlines the upcoming joint committee meetings scheduled for June 1, 2026, at 6:00 P.M. at the Saline County Courthouse.

Exhibit A: A formal order from County Judge Matt Brumley to re-appoint William Reagan to the Saline County Waterworks & Sanitary Sewer Public Facilities Board (Woodland Hills) for a term expiring in 2031.

Exhibit B: An appropriation ordinance amending the 2026 county budget. It details fund allocations and line-item transfers across various departments, including the Sheriff’s Bond Fund, Law Library Fund, and the Salute to Veterans Fund.

Exhibit C: An ordinance formally establishing and funding the two requested SRO positions. It allocates $72,145.05 each for the Bauxite and Sheridan school district positions, detailing matches for social security, retirement, and health insurance, and explicitly states the roles only exist as long as reimbursement funding from the districts continues.


Meeting Minutes: May 4th
Public Works and Safety : Led by Chairman Pat Bisbee, the committee unanimously approved amended minutes from their April meeting. Judge Brumley presented a proclamation for Arkansas Foster Care Month to representatives of “The Call” and discussed establishing an advisory committee for an animal control ordinance. He and JP Bellinger also noted they would send a letter opposing quartz mining permits to protect local watersheds.
Finance : Led by Chairman Josh Curtis, the committee unanimously approved their amended April minutes. They voted unanimously to pass an ordinance appropriating state funds for election worker stipends.

Notably, it chronicles
- a failed animal control ordinance vote (6 in favor, 7 against) after heavy public comment ,
- the successful adoption of a county flag ,
- a library system millage vote , and
- personnel restructuring requests for the Collector and County Clerk offices that required no additional funding.
