Lee’s Faith & Fitness: Stress, Negativity and Pancakes

August 9, 2019 By Shelli Poole Leave a Comment

Follow Lee Crow of Bryant on his fitness path, and try his recipes and health tips. See the the archives to his featured column here.

This edition of Lee’s Faith & Fitness offers a healthy weight loss tip along with a new recipe. There are so many road blocks you can run into on a weight-loss journey.  One that some people fail to think of involves emotional barriers such as stress and negativity.

First, stress is huge if not handled properly.  Yes, you will face stressful situations, but it’s the unnecessary stress that I firmly believe you should strive to avoid. Here’s why avoiding stressful situations is important to stay on a healthy weight loss journey.  Stress can cause you to think and react irrational.  Stress can lead to more eating.  Stress can cause you to lose focus.

Next, negativity.  The worst thing you can hear from someone is, “you can’t do it.” You want people who are going to encourage and lift you up. You want to be in positive environments as much as possible. The more negativity you face, the less confident you are in yourself and the drive to stick and stay is reduced.

And now to this amazing healthy recipe. It’s breakfast time! I call this Lee’s Protein Pancake.

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend to the consistency of pancake batter. Lightly spray olive oil in skillet over medium heat. Pour enough mix for medium size pancake. There’s enough mix for 3-4 small to medium pancakes or 2 large pancakes. I like to make the mix at night an place it in the fridge to allow it to
Thicken. This will help you get the day off on the right foot to ensure you’re hitting your nutrition goals each day.

Top with fruit and some agave nectar for an amazing breakfast.

I am proud to announce that Faith & Fitness by Lee Crow is now available for purchase through Amazon at this link.
As always, it is a joy to share my journey with the readers of My Saline.  I look forward to building Lee’s Faith & Fitness into something that will add value to others and make a difference in the lives of people looking to reach their health goals.
