An Alexander resident believes Alexander Mayor Crystal Herrmann has been unfairly criticized. Says she has worked with Legislative Audit office to uncover financial issues with City staff and elected officials.

Good morning, Shelli.
I’m reaching out as a concerned taxpayer who is increasingly frustrated with the narrative that Mayor Crystal Herrmann is somehow “destroying” Alexander. In my view, the opposite is true.
The documentation I’ve reviewed from the 2023 Alexander Legislative Audit suggests that she has actually been uncovering a wide range of longstanding issues.

Among the most serious findings are records showing a breach of public trust and potential misuse of taxpayer funds by a current city council member, who obtained a credit card in the city’s name using fraudulent documents without the knowledge or authorization of the mayor or the city council.
Given the significance of these findings, this matter deserves thorough investigation, and the public has a right to know what is truly happening.
The individual then attached the following documents from (1) a Legislative Audit, and (2) a City of Alexander meeting:
