You probably heard over the weekend that Jeremy Hutchinson resigned from his seat as Arkansas Senator in District 33 (map below), which includes parts of Saline and Pulaski Counties. Hutchinson has been in the news for months, during a federal investigation into his finances. He submitted a letter of resignation on Friday, August 31, 2018, after the U.S. Department of Justice announced he was indicted on wire and tax fraud charges by a federal grand jury. Wesley Brown of Talk Business has written an in depth article, explaining Hutchinson’s situation. Hutchinson announced in September 2017 that he would not run for re-election.
