UPDATE JUN 12, 2025 3PM
MySaline reported the unfortunate news on Wednesday that a teen girl lost her life to an attack by multiple dogs. The 15-year-old girl was Makayla Fortner, a student at Bryant Public Schools. While the family is grieving, those close to them are helping by setting up a fund. The following is the post on the fundraiser site:
On behalf of my dear friend Stephanie Wilkie, I am heartbroken to share the devastating news that her beloved 15-year-old daughter, Makayla Fortner, tragically passed away following a horrific dog attack. This unimaginable loss has left her family in deep shock, grief, and emotional pain.
Makayla is a beautiful, bright girl with the kindest soul who had so much life ahead of her. Her smile could light up a room, and her laughter was the kind that made others feel instantly at ease. She is deeply loved by her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
No parent is ever prepared to lose a child, and certainly not under such tragic circumstances. We are asking for your support to help Stephanie and her family cover funeral expenses, grief counseling, and to allow them the time and space to grieve without the burden of immediate financial stress.
If you are able to give, no matter how small, please know it is deeply appreciated. And whether you are able to donate or not, please consider sharing this campaign and keeping the family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for your love, support, and compassion during this heartbreaking time.
With love,
Her friends and family!
