The Bryant Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors sent an official letter to Bryant Mayor Chris Treat this week, requesting that the city help terminate Greyhound bus operations at a local fuel station. Chamber officials cite a severe increase in loitering, panhandling, and other nefarious activities reported by nearby business owners as the primary reasons for the request. Read more below.
The letter, dated June 4, 2026, details elevated concerns surrounding Gassy’s Fuel Station #2, located at 6101 AR-5 in Bryant. The Chamber also confirmed that the establishment is no longer a member of the Bryant Chamber of Commerce.
According to the Chamber board, several local business owners contacted their office and city officials to report disruptive behavior by Greyhound patrons utilizing the location as a bus stop. Reported issues include public loitering, panhandling, lewd acts, and direct customer interference at surrounding businesses. The Chamber noted that staff have filed multiple reports regarding these activities with the Bryant Police Department.
In response to the growing disruption, the Chamber is asking city leadership to formally request that the ownership and management of Gassy’s Fuel Station #2 cease all operations with Greyhound.
Neither city officials nor Gassy’s management have released a public statement regarding whether they will comply with the Chamber’s request.
