1. How to “Spring Forward”
It’s the start of Daylight Saving Time and we will all move our clocks forward by one hour. It happens every year near Springtime, and the time moves forward by one hour, so people call this time change “Spring Forward.”
This happens at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, but it might be easier to change it on Saturday night, depending on when you go to sleep.
What to do – Move clocks forward 1 hour (microwave, oven, car dashboard). Check your phone and computer and vehicle and whatever is that is supposed to automatically update. Find time change memes and share them with friends. Here are a few, and then keep reading for the poll about legislation, and the Spring dates!
When to do it – Change from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. or forward by one hour on Saturday night / Sunday morning.
While you’re at it – Many households use this time to check and replace batteries⚡in your home’s smoke detector(s).
2. Take the Poll
Several American States and U.S. Territories have passed legislation to stop or alter the time change routine. Arkansas is not yet one of those States.
Federal law currently does not allow a different routine than the current one; therefore, any State law would be contingent on the potential change by U.S. Congress. Many other states, including Arkansas, have considered legislation to stay on Standard Time, but stopped short of passing a law.
