A Shannon Hills police officer has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest early Tuesday morning on domestic assault and evidence tampering charges. Joaquin Silvestre Alvarado, 37, was taken into custody by the Little Rock Police Department and underwent a video arraignment at 8:00 a.m. Read more below.
Alvarado, who has served as an officer with the Shannon Hills Police Department for approximately four years, according to the Department, was arrested on August 4, 2026. Following the arrest, the Shannon Hills Police Department placed him on administrative leave and took custody of his department-issued badge, identification, and service weapon.
According to arrest records from the Little Rock Police Department, Alvarado faces multiple charges, including:
- Two counts of third-degree assault on a family or household member
- One count of tampering with physical evidence (destroying evidence)
- One count of first-degree criminal mischief (damages for collecting insurance of $1,000 or less)
Alvarado appeared in criminal court for a scheduled video arraignment on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Details regarding his bond or future court dates have not yet been released.
